Finally Back Home

Eight years ago, I retired from full-time teaching. It seemed like a good idea. I wasn’t really tired of teaching. I spent most of this time knowing something was missing. I spent a month in Africa looking for it. I spent 2 1/2 months camping in a pup tent through Arkansas, Kansas, Nebraska, and South Dakota looking for it. I bought a house in independence Kansas a fixer-upper built in 1920 and completely remodeled it and made it home. Along the way I managed to write a rough draft of my memoir but that was not it either. I didn’t know what I was gonna do.

Finally, I got on my knees and asked God to give me some kind of sign about why I’m here. A month later I got this job teaching - this time chemistry and AP chemistry at Bartlesville High School. 50 minutes South of here in Oklahoma.

On August 14,  I started my 30th year of full time teaching. From the very start I felt at
Home again. Thank you thank you thank you Spirit of the Universe.
